Quilted Blue Toile Chair Pads

Recently I was contacted by someone who had found my blog by searching on etsy. She saw the toile chair pads I had posted here a few years ago and asked if I could make her a set. Unfortunatley I no longer had that fabric but I did have a light weight cotton fabric with a toile design so I offered to quilt that for her and make the chair pads to fit her antique library chairs. I hope she will be pleased with them!

Ticking Stripe Chair Pads

These chair pads are made from a medium weight ticking stripe fabric. The back and ties are a cream coloured broadcloth. The back has an envelope opening so that the inner polyester fibre filled pad can be removed. The ties are attached to the cover with a short loop of elastic to reduce the amount of stress on the fabric. A cording made with the ticking stripe finishes the edges of the cushions. Each cushion measures 15 1/2" across and 15" from front to back.

Blue Toile Chair Pads

This set of 4 chair pads are made from a medium weight cotton toile fabric and edged with a cording in a coordinating gingham. In order to reduce stress on the fabric, the gingham ties are attached with a short loop of lastic. The solid blue back has an envelope opening so that the inner polyester fibre filled pillow can be removed so that the outer shell can be washed and dried.
